Oulton Park’s festival of Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship summer fun returns in 2019, with another blockbuster feast of tin top action. Three BTCC races will headline on the Sunday and there will be support action too at the BTCC’s best-attended round.
Much of the BTCC grid has a new look for this year, with reigning champions Team BMW bringing the 3 Series back to the grid for Colin Turkington. 2018 runner-up Tom Ingram has a new steed too - a factory-backed Toyota Corolla – whilst series legend Jason Plato has reunited with the Vauxhall brand which brought him the 2001 battle to pursue a 100th BTCC win.
Matt Neal and Dan Cammish will spearhead Honda’s efforts this year, whilst 2017 champion Ashley Sutton remains behind the wheel of a works Subaru Levorg. There will be local interest true, through the Wrotham based Motorbase team, and its star driver Tom Chilton. This year’s grid boasts an F1 connection too, through Lewis Hamilton’s brother Nicolas and ex-Grand Prix driver Mark Blundell.
The BTCC is fast, furious, and highly entertaining, and with a full programme of support races too, this is set to be a great day out.
